REDRESS/RE-VESTIRSE

#Signature

REDRESS workshop invites participants to rethink dressing as both a material and cultural act. Through making, exchange, and dialogue, the workshop creates a space for skill-sharing and collective reflection, where participants may teach, learn, or revisit practices of material care and transformation. Participants are invited to bring and transform clothing and textile objects, contributing tools and resources through a shared, crowd-sourced setup.

RE-DRESS is designed as a repeatable and adaptable format that responds to different local contexts while maintaining its core structure. Early iterations included sessions in the Tigre Delta, Argentina, within the context of Wabisabi arts residency and surrounding community; and in Punta Arenas, Chile, hosted by Casa Azul del Arte. Each instance revealed context-specific material cultures and concerns, from locally embedded textile knowledge to emerging trends on waste stream reuse. These experiences informed the evolution of the workshop as a flexible platform that can be tailored to organizational needs, participant profiles, and available material ecosystems, while continuing to explore the relationships between dress, conscious textiles consumption, and practices of care.
