REDRESS/RE-VESTIRSE

#Signature

REDRESS workshop invites participants to rethink dressing as both a material and cultural act. Through making, exchange, and dialogue, the workshop creates a space for skill-sharing and collective reflection, where participants may teach, learn, or revisit practices of material care and transformation. Participants are invited to bring and transform clothing and textile objects, contributing tools and resources through a shared, crowd-sourced setup.

RE-DRESS is designed as a repeatable and adaptable format that responds to different local contexts while maintaining its core structure. Early iterations included sessions in the Tigre Delta, Argentina, within the context of Wabisabi arts residency and surrounding community; and in Punta Arenas, Chile, hosted by Casa Azul del Arte. Each instance revealed context-specific material cultures and concerns, from locally embedded textile knowledge to emerging trends on waste stream reuse. These experiences informed the evolution of the workshop as a flexible platform that can be tailored to organizational needs, participant profiles, and available material ecosystems, while continuing to explore the relationships between dress, conscious textiles consumption, and practices of care.

TEXSTONES/
PIEDRAS TEXTILES

#Signature

TEXSTONES workshop is an unusual mix of textile recycling, geology, and materials design where participants experiment with textiles and polymers to create agglomerates that resemble stones, while learning about geology and sustainable production and consumption of fashion and textiles.

TEXSTONES workshop consists of 4 sessions that use geological concepts and processes like mineral structures, weathering and sedimentation, rock formation and gems, to guide fiber preparation, textile composite formation, carving and polishing of synthetic textile rocks.

TEXTILE TECHNOLOGIES

#Customizable

The workshops in this series explore a wide range of textile techniques to create objects of different scales, with a strong focus on repurposing waste streams. Participants will explore basic textile concepts such as interlacing, rhythm, texture, and structure as methods of fabrication.

Learning objectives:
  • Understand and apply textile principles in the creation of functional or decorative objects
  • Identify and repurpose abundant waste streams through textile techniques
Minimum Time Commitment: 4 hrs
Contents can be tailored to the specific needs of your organization, including the analysis of waste streams to be involved in the creative process.

BIO~MATERIALITIES

#Customizable

The workshops in this series explore materials design applying biodesign principles that involve working with biobased, biodegradable or living “ingredients”. The course involves material explorations that implement different proprietary as well as traditional, and open source recipes. Outcomes range from flexible films to hard bioplastics, or composites that repurpose an abundant waste stream (for example textile waste, single use plastics, agricultural waste, etc).

Learning objectives:
  • Understand the principles of biodesign and their application to materials design
  • Identify and repurpose abundant waste streams through materials design
  • Develop and fabricate prototypes using biobased, biodegradable, or living ‘ingredients”
  • Evaluate the properties and performance of bio-based materials
Minimum time commitment: 4 hrs.
Contents can be tailored to your organization needs, and can include the analysis of waste streams to be involved in the creative process.

SUSTAINABILITIES

#Customizable

The workshops in this series explore sustainability as a dynamic and context-specific practice, supporting organizations in identifying, questioning, and overcoming their sustainability challenges. The course involves collaborative sessions with multiple stakeholders to deconstruct existing assumptions and rebuild sustainability paradigms based on shared knowledge, operational realities, and emerging ecological frameworks. Through analytical and creative methodologies, participants engage with their organization’s systems, cultures, and material flows to uncover opportunities for transformation.

Learning objectives:
  • Understand sustainability as a systemic and evolving practice within organizational contexts
  • Identify key environmental, material, and cultural challenges specific to the organization
  • Analyze material flows, resource use, and waste generation across operations
  • Develop strategies to reduce, reuse, and recirculate resources within the organization
  • Co-create tools and frameworks to support long-term sustainable decision-making
Minimum time commitment: 4 hrs.

Outcomes may include sustainability diagnostics, material flow analyses, sustainability navigation charts, corporate culture manifestos, strategic roadmaps, and creative interventions aimed at reducing, reusing, and recycling resources. Contents can be tailored to the specific needs, scale, and sector of the organization, as well as the level of stakeholder involvement.
